Every text is different, sounds different, and in German, everything works differently anyway. The American ground floor is the first one in the UK, a Z turns into an S, cultural innuendos don\u2019t work the same in every country that speaks English, and so on.

Unlike common translation softwares, I use my human brain and develop feelings for the text. As my time at university and previous projects have shown, this is the best way to deal with the text and to transfer it into the target language. Namely to allow people reading the final product to experience it in their own language as if it were the original.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

It all began in a town near Stuttgart: After spending my childhood and teenage years in the beautiful south of Germany followed by one year in New Zealand, I eventually enrolled at the University of Leipzig. Three years and two Erasmus semesters in the UK later, armed with a bachelor degree in Translation and American Studies, I was well prepared and ready for my life as translator and word juggler. First came transcriptions and subtitles, then film reviews and editing jobs.
